This beautiful handmade elk drum was built from scratch with materials locally sourced from a native drum supply shop in Washington State.
It’s has scalloped edges, those are the parts that were cut away to reduce wrinkling and add style. (see detail photo)
A mallet is included but may not be the exact one in the photo.
This is my favorite animal hide to work with. These frame drums are deceptively simple. Their versatility makes them great for shamanic journeys, ceremonies, sound healing and of course, just playing music.
