About the Store:
This storefront is a showcase of the many different artistic offerings from Seattle native Moksha Kusa Marquardt. Here you will find original paintings as well as giclee art prints and other merchandise made from his paintings.
While Moksha is primarily a painter, he also makes shamanic style medicine drums, commonly know as frame drums. These beautiful drums are made from scratch with locally sourced materials. He uses the leftover rawhide to make ceremony rattles. Many of the drums and rattles are hand painted with his own designs and he is open to commissions as well.
Last but not least, there is a large selection of hand tied malas available. Moksha learned to make these after falling in love with kirtan and chanting and he wanted to make these prayer beads as a way to give back; they are powerful tools for focus and meditation and are age old tools for healing and self empowerment.

Biography:
Moksha Kusa Marquardt (his birth name) is a self-taught master painter and multi-faceted artist from Washington State. His early work was heavily inspired by the dark artistry of Polish surrealists like Zdzislaw Beksinski and Jacek Yerka.
Moksha's artistic style blends intricate details with a loose painterly approach, creating pieces that are alive with movement and vibrant color. His paintings serve as a reflection of his emotional relationship with nature—capturing what is felt rather than simply what is seen. Undoubtedly growing up in the Pacific Northwest has had the deepest influence on his work.
Driven by a genuine passion for his craft, Moksha made the transition from a career of nearly 20 years as a designer and background artist in the computer game industry to becoming a full-time fine artist over a decade ago.
For the past 10 years Moksha has been an influencer as a live painter at art and music festivals such as Beloved, Lucidity, Imagine and the Oregon Country Fair, and has painted along side many talented artists such as Autumn Skye, Alex Grey and so many more.
In 2020 he first started to build and sell shamanic style frame drums and rattles as well as traditional 108 bead malas.
In 2021 Moksha moved to Portland, OR and joined The Haven, a thriving art collective, makers space, and healing arts community.
