This painting came from a question: does a tree that has been cut down remember its old self in the way that people sometimes report having feeling in a limb that has been amputated. The burst of energy coming from the tree in this painting shows what the tree once was and maybe the tree still feels as if it were stretching its arms out wide into the world, the wind tickling its branches and rustling its leaves in the breeze. Printed on heavy weight archival paper.
