This is another one of those paintings that I didn’t plan out, and for the most part I don’t really understand. It’s an image that needed to come through me but not one I can fully take credit for. I often like to joke that I’m just the brushholder, I just work here. I’m not the boss. Furthermore, this one began it’s life as something entirely different and midway into it I changed direction completely and it became what you see here. The creative process is mysterious, I’ve learned to not try and control it, but just let it happen.
I could tell you what I think this painting “Trinity” means, but I think it’s more fun to let you decide what it means to you.
