With this piece it was my goal to make an abstract work that had more structure and symmetry. I didn’t start with a sketch but just worked it out on the canvas, making it up as I went. Soon I started to see a mask of some kind emerge from the structure. It felt non-threatening and kind of regal, like a guardian. I like how this one turned out and plan to make more with this kind of organic architectural approach.
